Loudoun County is proud to host the 2007
13 Year-Old Babe Ruth World Series.
This is a prestigious honor for Loudoun County
and Commonwealth of Virginia. This will be the
fourth time such a baseball event has been held
in Loudoun County.
Loudoun is located between Washington, D.C.
and the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. To the
east, Dulles International Airport and commerce
thrive; while in the western section small farms,
charming towns and villages still exist. Residents
and visitor alike enjoy a wide array of attractions
ranging from a thrilling rafting trip down the
Potomac to a more tranquil stroll through one
of our historic districts. The county park network
alone offers recreational facilities for all
ages and interests. One such park is the site
for this year’s Babe Ruth World Series.
Purcellville Fireman’s Field is a community
baseball park owned by the Purcellville Volunteer
Fire Company. This park complex features a skating
rink, ball field and picnic area. Fireman’s
Field was built in the 1940’s and was
home to Purcellville’s baseball teams
when every town in the country had its own men’s
baseball team. The field has taken on many improvements
over the last fifty plus years. The most recent
improvements included new lights and fencing,
2,000 in perimeter seating, new bullpens, and
a newly irrigated grass infield. Additionally,
this old time park is bordered by huge oak trees
reaching over 100 feet high. Fireman’s
Field has played and will continue to play a
vital role in the community for many years to
come.
